De Huawei Backup Box 3 fase wordt gebruikt in een residentieel PV-systeem op het dak om de omvormer in grid-gekoppelde of off-grid toestand te controleren. Wanneer het net uitvalt, schakelt de omvormer over naar de off-grid staat en levert stroom aan off-grid belastingen in back-up modus. Wanneer het net zich herstelt, schakelt de omvormer terug naar de netgekoppelde toestand. De Huawei Backup Box werkt met de LG Chem HV, of met de Huawei LUNA 2000 batterij modules.
